Post Doctoral Position

Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR

A new position for a lab manager in the Barbar lab is available immediately for conducting NSF funded studies focused on the macromolecular assembly, structure and function of the multi-subunit motor protein dynein; as well as the role of protein disorder in regulation of diverse assembly processes in vivo and in vitro. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, eukaryotic protein expression in bacteria and insect cells, and with expertise in biophysical and biochemical methods of protein interaction characterization. These could include isothermal titration calorimetry, circular dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy, surface plasmon resonance, and pull down assays. A large part of this position will be focused on developing methods for production of difficult to express and purify proteins, and for conducting in vivo assays.

Qualifications: PhD in Biochemistry or related fields.
